Day 20: Dirty 30 AND Pilates Fix + Running

Tomorrow is the day folks! Tomorrow is the last day of all of this :-)  And when I say "all of this," I just mean of 21 Day Fix.  I will be starting T25 on Friday, and then my posting will happen every 2-3 days, so you won't be bothered by me QUITE as often ;-)

I figure you pretty much know how these workouts go and what my complaints about them are by now, so here's the picture journal:

Dirty 30 Plank Renegade Rows

Pilates Low Plank Hold ({C} assisted)

After Brandon got home, {E} wanted to go the gym daycare (because I didn't work today) and play with friends, so we headed to the gym and dropped the girls off.  Brandon went to the weights and I ran 3 miles.  And once again, that was fun :-)

Foodies: Meal 2--chicken breast and yams (meh)

And, of course, my Shakeology :-)

Day 2 of the 3 Day Quick Fix is over.  And the only thing that really motivated me to do it all over today was that I lost 1.4 lbs yesterday.  Yeah.  So, I'll go one more day, and on Friday, I'll have the big reveal!  I know you don't want to miss THAT, so stay tuned!  Tomorrow I've got Yoga Fix and...that's it :-)  Goodnight!

Day 18: Pilates Fix + 10 Minute Fix for Abs AND Total Body Cardio Fix

Today's post is a quick one, solely for accountability :-)  Lucky you!

Pilates Fix is done, I have pictures to prove it.

I like the 10 Minute Fix for Abs workout, maybe not the best idea to do it right after pilates, though.

I did both those workouts back to back after I finished my first shift at work.  Second shift of work ended at 8:00 pm, and I did Total Body Cardio Fix after I put the kiddos to bed.  No pictures from that workout, you'll just have to take my word that it took place.

Food consumption was alright, but only because I've been running around like a crazy person all day, and didn't really have time to sit down and eat a lot ;-/

Tomorrow is Cardio Fix and Upper Fix.  ALSO, I am starting the 3 Day Quick Fix, with my much stricter meal plan.  Wahoo :-)

And now, goodnight to you all, from me and {C}!

Day 15: Total Body Cardio Fix...AND Pilates Fix

Ok, already I'm tired of the double workout schedule.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could do the workouts one after the other, but this doing one in the morning and one in the evening business sucks.  That's two showers a day, at least.  If {C} decides to fully potty train, then it's probably more.  Also, by the end of the day, my motivation is 0. :-P  Yeah, yesterday was awesome with the running, but when the BYU game is on in the background, in overtime, and Brandon is yelling loud enough to wake the dead, or even {E}, I don't really want to go to the corner and do a workout in the periphery.  Just sayin.

BUT! Good news!  I did, in fact, fix my heart rate monitor.  Yay!  I had it all put together several times, and I couldn't get the start/stop button to work, (which is kind of an essential button), and after 20 minutes, Brandon remembered a piece we had taken off when we started the endeavor.  And now it is fixed!

So cheers to fixing my watch and doing total body cardio this morning!

I also ate food today...so...that was good, too.  I made an egg/egg white omelet with spinach and parmesan, topped with homemade salsa and grape tomatoes for lunch.  That was the high light of my day food-wise.  That and I snuck a few sips of Brandon's Dirty Pepsi.  *Shhh!  Don't tell!*  It was glorious.

And then I had an awful dip in my menu (catastrophe music blaring in the background, something symphonic).  I made my simple, awesome chicken enchiladas, quick and easy, and they turned out kinda yucky.  I don't know if the corn tortillas were just on the edge of decency, or maybe my shredded chicken was on its way out, but they just weren't up to par :-(

After sneaking some of Brandon's "STUPID BYU!!!! WHY ARE YOU LOSING???!!!!" treats, I decided I should do my pilates workout as scheduled.  I did manage to get Brandon to take a couple pictures before overtime started, so, that was a major accomplishment :-)  He must really love me.

After I finished the workout, it was FINALLY time for my Shakeology.

Can I tell you a secret?  I have not particularly enjoyed this month's flavor.  Greenberry was great, I have tasted the chocolate and vegan chocolate, and I prefer the taste of the vegan chocolate.  But Brandon prefers fruit flavors to chocolate most days, and since I share my Shakeo with him, for the time being, I figured "Hey, maybe the vegan Tropical Strawberry will be better than the regular Strawberry flavor."  Not so.  At first it strongly reminded me of a pepto bismol mix with cough syrup.  Not pleasant.  I've developed a tolerance for it now, but I've still tried to find the right mix-ins so I might actually enjoy it.  Today, I found a winner.  Hallelujah!

May I present Tropical Strawberry, mixed with one small banana and ~4 Tbsp of Nesquik.  Also included: a few ice cubes and about 16 oz of very cold water.

I would also like to point out, that had I a different personality, I could have tried it once, talked to customer service, and switched this bag for a different flavor with the greatest of ease, free of charge.  Or, once I finished it, I could have sent it back for a full refund.  Beachbody is a wonderful company.   100%  guaranteed.

Having said that, the nutrition is way worth the struggle of drinking the "not my favorite" flavor I chose.  This stuff makes me feel amazing.  I am so much healthier, I can FEEL the difference.  You just have to try it for yourself, though, cuz this one is MINE.

Shakeology schpill done.  Tomorrow: Upper Fix and Cardio Fix (I think.)  See ya tomorrow!

Day 11: Pilates Fix--Round 2

Yesterday was actually the day I did the workout, since Sunday is my rest day, but once again, we didn't get home until late, and I didn't want to worry over posting.  Saturdays we usually make the trek down to Utah County and visit all the fam.  There is also, usually, a soccer game involved, but yesterday our game was scheduled for 6:10 pm, which happened to be during the Priesthood Session of Conference, and since our team is made up of only Brandon's family, half of them thought it would be better for them to attend their church meeting.  So we forfeited.

It's ok though, because instead of tiring myself out at soccer, I got to have a nice, semi-relaxing evening with my female in-laws :-)  (The "semi-relaxing" is because there were also younger females running around the house screaming, so, yeah.)

And here's the confession:  I partook of not healthy food.  (gasp!)  Also, I am feeling pretty good about it, and I'll tell you why.  When I started this "getting healthy" journey, I had no intention whatsoever of giving up deserts and hamburgers and delicious food altogether.  The end goal of this whatchamacallit is to yes, lose weight, get healthy, tone/firm up, but also to enjoy and participate in family gatherings/functions.  The holiday season is coming up, and that's the time when I tend to pack on my extra 10-15 lbs of winter weight.  There is SO MUCH yummy food floating around the holidays, and it is ridiculous to expect that I'm not gonna eat any of it.  That wouldn't make for a happy holiday anyways.  Rounding back around to my point: the good news about me indulging last night/today is that I've been able to CONTROL IT.  The major progress being made here is that I'm not gorging myself on deserts, and turkey and gravy, potatoes with extra butter and soft, warm rolls.  (drooling yet?)  Yes, I'm eating the good food, but in the last two months I've developed a relationship with my body where I LISTEN to it when it says "You're satisfied.  Don't eat another helping."  I've removed daily sugar highs long enough to know that THIS PARTICULAR TREAT is not going to taste as good as I think it will, and I know that I WON'T FEEL GOOD if I eat it.  And I can make a logical, conscious decision about it and stick to it.  For the most part.

And THAT, my friendlies, is progress :-)

As for the pilates workout, it was still a workout :-)  I'm still having the hardest time with the side/mat glute exercises.  You know, the ones where you lie on your side and then do the leg lifts, and "stir the pot/mixing bowl?"  Yeah, those ones.  They are killer.  So, that part was hard still, and then it didn't help that {C} kept trying to sit on me during my low plank hold.  Stinker.  Other than that, I felt like I did well with everything else.  Definitely still loving that these workouts are only 30 MINUTES!  It is so wonderful, it just goes by so quickly :-)

And I am now, officially, half-way through this program!  And a happy note to end on: I got my Insanity T-shirt Friday!  If you do a Beachbody workout the whole way through, you can go on their website, upload your before/after pictures, tell them a little bit about how you liked the program, and then they will send you a FREE T-SHIRT.  Score.

Day 4: Pilates Fix/Losing Control.

Ok, let me know if this is the same for any of you out there on the other side of the interwebs:  I do SO GOOD at the beginning of the day with my eating.  I'm busy and hurrying to get things done when I need to, and I'm constantly being pulled this way and that by the chilluns, and I NEVER have a moment where I can sit down and eat a WHOLE meal without hearing the incessant yells of "Mom!  Mom! Mommy! Mom! Mommy! Mommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!"

Is that just me?  Oh, here's the rest of it.  So, I'm snacking whenever I can find the time, and I'll drink my water when I remember to fill up my 32 oz cup I got from the hospital when I birthed {C} 2 1/2 years ago, and now it's time to move the laundry to the dryer and turn the water on for {E}, because the faucet knob sticks, so she can wash her hands after going to the bathroom for the 20th time since she woke up 2 hours ago, and I need to dig through the dishwasher for a clean cup for {C} so she can drink SOMETHING with her pop-tart that is strewn all over the apartment.  Ah crap, it's already 11:00!?  Hurry!  Push play on my workout,"NO {C}! You can't sit on Mommy while she's in side plank, her sprained wrist will collapse and break, please go do YOUR side plank next to the rocking chair." Workout done: check.  Fix {E} her sandwich to eat before school, jump in the shower, *sniff sniff* nope, I'll wash my hair tomorrow...5 minutes later, ok 10 (that was the only time I've had to myself this morning) jump out of the shower, throw on clothes, spray dry shampoo on my hair, redo the bun I've had going all week, slip on my moccasins, tie {E}'s shoes, scream at everyone to get to the car, tuck {C} under my arm like a football and book it to the car, wait at two stoplights, open the door for {E}, try to kiss her somewhere as she dashes out of the car to go see her friends, look at {C}'s sad face that {E} is gone again for 3 hours, and then sit in the driver seat for 5 seconds and catch my breath.  It's 12:30.

Eventually we get home and I'm RAVENOUS.  And that's where it all loop-de-loops down the toilet.  Today was especially great, because I had a surprise notification on my calendar that we were feeding the missionaries in our stake.  I didn't remember signing up to do that, but I must have, otherwise, how did it get in my calendar?  Long story short, I made some calls, and it turns out I took my crazy pills whenever I put that appointment into the calendar, and we, in fact, were NOT feeding the missionaries tonight.  Too bad I already went shopping for the occasion.  Don't look at this too long, it will burn your retinas, like staring at the sun.  (And yes, the irony is not lost on me, with my Shakeology in the background, taunting me and calling me weak.)

This cake will be my ruin.  But if you're having company and you need a dessert, Smith's sells these lemon-pudding bundt cakes for $2.99!  And they are HEAVENLY!  Moist, lemony, with just the right amount of glaze...I could definitely eat the whole thing by myself.  At least, for now, that amount is still left, and I haven't devoured the whole thing.  Yet.

Oh, by the way, I did do the Pilates Fix; I mentioned that previously :-)  Lots of mat work, my glutes are very sore, and my back will probably be feeling it tomorrow as well.  I did enjoy the work out, even with the chorus of "Mom!!!!" in the background.

Back to my lack of control issues.  Brandon came home and said he needed to go to Costco, so of course we went for a family trip.  And when you get to Costco, with kids anyway, you need to be prepped with electronic devices to silence them for the first time that day, and also you need treats.  At least this time we did.

Guess who held that churro most of the time?  Nope, it wasn't little {C}.  I held it.  And nibbled on 75% of it as well.  *Boys, close your eyes*  I would really like to chalk up the lack of control I've had this week to being in the middle of my cycle *gasp!*  But I have just really gone crazy with the eating what I want as soon as Brandon gets home, because I finally am able to sit down for 1 minute without being pestered, and my brain thinks "Go!  Eat now!  Shove it all in your mouth before the demons/angels come back!"

Feeling a little discouraged right now.  Probably I should re-evaluate my time management sheet.  Because it will only get worse.  I was really thinking about going to the gym at 9:00 to run 5 miles and "punish" myself for my lack of control.  Just frustrated, discouraged, and annoyed that my children yell/scream/ignore 10x more than they listen to/obey me....

But little {C} has such cute, chubby cheeks.  That's a happy thought for me to end on.
